Why this exists

I'm Jane Wardle, and I've spent eleven years teaching sonography and working in partnership with industry to support sonographers with clinical education. Before that, I worked for over 20 years in the medical imaging industry (15 years sonography), giving me three decades of hands-on experience in this field. Over those years, I've watched brilliant, compassionate sonographers, both students and practicing professionals, struggle with the same pattern: emotional exhaustion that erodes the very empathy that makes them excellent at their work. I've also had a very personal experience with burn out that I didn't even identify until I found my neuroscience studies were helping me feel better. When I discovered that 90% of sonographers experience burnout factors,(1) yet there were no specialised programs addressing this crisis, I knew something had to change. Not another generic mindfulness app. Not another "self-care Sunday" platitude. Something grounded in actual neuroscience and compassion science, designed specifically for the unique demands of sonography practice. Resonant Sonographer exists because you deserve professional development that genuinely supports your wellbeing while enhancing your clinical practice, not one at the expense of the other.
